June 25, 2026 – Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) recently joined the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra in celebrating 70 years of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Japan through A 70 Year Opus: Celebrating Philippines-Japan Friendship in Concert, held at The Theatre at Solaire.
As part of its support for the event, TMP partnered with the New Japan Philharmonic in bringing the orchestra’s debut performance to Filipino audiences, reflecting its commitment to fostering meaningful connections and strengthening the longstanding relationship between the Philippines and Japan. Under the baton of acclaimed conductor Honna Tetsuji and featuring internationally renowned violinist Mayuko Kamio, the orchestra performed timeless masterpieces by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Ludwig van Beethoven. They also played the theme song of the iconic Japanese animated series, Voltes V.
"Movement has always been at the heart of Toyota, not only in the vehicles we build, but in the opportunities, aspirations, and human connections that mobility makes possible. For more than three decades in the Philippines, we have had the privilege of being part of the journeys of millions of Filipinos. Through our support of the New Japan Philharmonic's Philippine debut, we celebrate the enduring ties between the Philippines and Japan and the shared experiences that continue to strengthen the friendship between our peoples," shared Toyota Motor Philippines President Masando Hashimoto.
“Toyota believes in the art of music and how each song contains the story of the artist that made it. Toyota strives to value the story behind each of their cars and being able to provide cars that people can connect to at a personal level. Toyota Motor Philippines shares the same belief with Global Chairman Akio Toyoda, and his belief of supporting music and learning from their process to create cars that people can connect to. This partnership supporting New Japan Philharmonic’s concert being the latest testament to that belief.” he adds.
